Devil tattoos

To most, the Devil (also known as Satan, among other names) is the most relevant symbol for evil, especially among religious individuals. However, that doesn’t mean that everyone with a devil tattoo does so to symbolize evil or wrongness. There are many different reasons why someone may choose to tattoo a devil on themselves. One of the more common reasons why someone may choose to tattoo a devil on themselves is to display their belief in Pagan worship. While Paganism itself is quite misunderstood world around, Pagan tattoos of the Devil tend to show an early depiction of the creature. In his earliest depictions, the Devil was shown as a hooded figure with horns and hooves. Other reasons why an individual may choose to tattoo the Devil on themselves include showing a rebellious side, a depiction for their darker side, or as a depiction of a darker event from their past. Interested in Devil tattoos? Here are some of the reasons many individuals commonly choose Devil tattoos:

Rebellion
Tattooing the devil on yourself can be seen as a relatively rebellious act. Not only that, but the Devil himself is seen as a rebellious figure. In most stories, he bows to no one and plays by his own set of rules. Many people may be able to relate this to their own attitude, in a less evil way. Like Pagans, many people who choose to tattoo the devil on themselves do so with an older depiction of the devil. This draws less attention, but still gets the message across when explained.
Showing Their Darker Side
Many people tattoo the devil on themselves to show their darker side. While this doesn’t necessarily mean that they are evil individuals, it shows that they are willing to express a side of themselves that most people are not willing to share. Maybe the individual uses their Devil tattoo as a reminder of the kind of person that they do not want to become. This is a popular reason for many different tattoos that people commonly purchase. With just a glance down at their arm (or wherever they decide to place the tattoo), they receive an instant reminder to be a better person and, well, less evil.
Relation To The Design
There are many different popular designs of the devil available. Many of these designs depict the devil taking part in a number of different activities. For instance, a war veteran may purchase a tattoo of the devil in fatigues in a gun. To this person, this may symbolize the evils of war. There are many different ways to express yourself using the devil as a metaphor for the evils of life.
Devil Vs.
Another popular devil tattoo design is the depiction of the devil fighting another being. This could be a number of different beings. Many people elect to tattoo the devil fighting with themselves. This can represent that person fighting their inner demons. Other classic depictions of devil fighting scenes include the devil doing battle with angels, god himself, or other beasts that reportedly reside in hell in early depictions of the devil.
